I want you to understand that I make these comments under the duress of not wanting claims about my character left unchallenged, that if there was a feature on this site to block your comments I would jump at it with open arms to get a break from you whilst still being able to view the progress of the forum, that means if this is your last slander 'that I participated in unconscious bullying,' that I don't want to discuss this with you or reply to any further comments from you.brimstoneSalad wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2017 4:41 amComparing, yes. The concept of abuse and consent is similar. Not equating, though. Rape is far worse than bullying.NonZeroSum wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2017 3:34 amOh my fucking god, you're comparing my actions to that of a rapist now, you are disturbed!
I'm asking sincere questions about how you define bullying, and how that logic applies to other abuses.
I think it is inappropriate to compare this to the consent relationships that can be perceived and applied in communication between two known persons and negotiating with the nature of cat-fishing/alt-identities online.
If I saw someone leave their house and come say hello to a group of people, misrepresent their views to that group and was offensive to the extent that they got banned from communicating with said group, then come out the same house wearing Groucho Marx glasses joking that they were a different person to that group, then proceeded to do this time and time again in new getup, but was generally well mannered so they ingraciated him back into the group. Then I joined that group and everyone let me debate about strange beliefs like North Korea without before letting me in on it being the same house that they keep leaving. I would be as engraciating as I could be to that person, if they wanted to start going by she pronouns and changed their name great, I've been calling them Zzzz or Zee and he. But I might have some concerns about why they let me believe they sincerely had those strange beliefs to hook me into long debates I wouldn't have otherwise participated in. And if it is a game to the extent that wearing groucho glasses was, then I could play along by laughing with them where they slip up their role, like we were doing when it came to IP, my mistake was taking them at their word that they wanted me to provide proof that that they had slipped up conclusively, and it wasn't just an emphatic irrational defence that they wanted to look over the top to play into their role, as soon as they told me they didn't like it I understood straight away, to the extent that they want people to accept this is the account they wish to play games with and deliver their message, they don't want people questioning it I absolutely respect that. My comments can then be taken as a profound confusion about the nature of trolling, and how to step cautiously around that phenomenon. All that being said Zee knows my misgivings but also that I'm more than willing to go about accepting they are who they say they are for the purposes of discussion and that I appreciate them as a person, always have and shared no bad will.
