Firstly, that vocalist was interesting and talented. I didn't expect the harder guitar that came in a bit after 2 min. All of the instruments had at least one cool, prominent part, like the bass in the final third of the song. The arrangements with multiple vocal tracks and the flow of the song was well executed. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but it was a solid song nonetheless. 7/10
Now for something fairly different from me.

I like that better than the heavy metal songs, but that's still not really music I'm into.Dream Sphere wrote:Firstly, that vocalist was interesting and talented. It's not very eventful for me. It's like a bland story that has no climax.

Tell me not just what you think of the song, but also the music video.

Re: Rate the Song Above You
The video was nice and both it and the song seemed fairly uplifting as they apparantely were intended to be. The video was decently executed for the concept as was the song (which had an obvious climax ) but the song was less than I could have hoped for, being a little too generic and simple to get more than a "it's alright, alright, alright" from me, but nothing more. 6.5/10

Balls that was amazing. Nice fuse of metal and a bit of electric. The song sounds very familiar for some odd reason.

What's with the handicapped signs? And did he actually say "you're gonna die" at the end or was I just hearing things? I think this combined with the music video has been one of the funnier novelty videos, though the song melody kinda sucked and got overplayed, so they balance each other out to a 4/10

Yes, he did actually say that.
Any-fucking-way, the song was alright. Slow, tedious, and took too long, but the instrumentals were pretty ok.

This is actually one of my least favourite classical pieces. I don't like the main melody, but the stuff starting after the first minute was interesting. 6/10

The intro was shit, but the rest of the song was pretty solid. Really good metal song in my book aside from the horrible intro which was an ear rape. Ah who cares?

The song was more interesting from the middle to the end, but the main melody first shown at the beginning was alright too. I don't really like it and nothing stood out as amazing but it was fairly well preformed and had some interesting parts. 6/10

Equality
Hey Hey Hey
5-6\10
Pretty good. I wish the rhythm was a bit more complex, but it has a nice feel good vibe. The music video seemed low budget and didn't seem to be trying anything fancy. It works for this kind of music though.
I'm betting you'd really like the song One day by Matisyahu. It's probably my favorite from this vein of music.

Dream sphere
Månegarm - Vredens Tid - Svunna Minnen
7\10
So far I've enjoyed this the most of what you posted. I would actually listen to this one outside of this thread. Sets a cool fantasy mood. I actually wish it was longer and fleshed out a bit more.
-------------------
Dream Sphere
Edge of Sanity - Black Tears
5\10
The guitar and drums seem way too loud relative to the vocals. I like the the main guitar melody and the "black tears" pause. There is better variation in the drum rhythm than some of your other stuff as well.
------------------------------
RedAppleGP
Super Mario 64 - Dire Dire Docks
7\10
Even though this isn't my favorite Mario song, Mario music is always amazing. Lots of variation in melodies and rhythms. This cover really brings out the potential in the song I hadn't noticed before with it's original midi sounds. His execution of it is wonderful to watch.
-------------------------
Dreamsphere
Windir - 1184
1-2\10 for the first 3:20 minutes. The drums add no complexity, the vocals don't add meaning or melody, and the guitar part doesn't seem cohesive or working with anything else. There is a short period(3:20 - 4:40) where the accordion comes in and works with the guitar nicely. The drums gain enough complexity to upgrade them from a noise to a rhythm. It seems like they are building towards something for about a minute and it actually gets to maybe a 6-7\10 until it scatters again.
May I ask what the the vocals and a metronome drum adds for you? I have a hard time relating to this.
