Avenged Sevenfold - Gunslinger 5/10

Not bad, but not great either. Good intro, nice guitar, ok vocals. Not much to complain about really and I generally like that style of song. I'm not sure why it didn't touch me more. I just didn't find any outstanding melodies in the song.

I must have ninja'd you Jebus, check the bottom of the previous page.

I'll edit in my review of your new song in a matter of minutes.

Edit:

1/10

That was a horrifying performance. The song was just a simple punk riff repeated ad nauseum. Not a fan.

Jebus
GG Allin - Bite It You Scum

Originality: 1\10 Embodiment of a stereotype.
Variation: 1\10 Just repeats one thing the whole time.
Complexity: 2\10 Everything is basic. Below average sounding vocals that don't deviate from the beat at all.
Catchiness: 1\10 I don't think they wanted to be catchy. They succeeded.
Mood\Emotion: 2\10 The guy singing it seems emotional, but the song itself doesn't evoke a feeling other than pity and annoyance.
Lyrics\Meaning:1\10 Can't be more than 10 words used, and 2 of those are "bite it". Couldn't have taken more than 5 minutes to write.
Highlight: Not sure you can have a highlight if it's all the same thing.
Cultural bias score(Taste): 2\10 I like a lot of punk music, not usually the old school stuff though.

Everyone else here seems to only listen to 80's and\or Metal(Except for Equallity's post). C'mon people, there are like a million genres out there. I feel like it would be more interesting for people to post music they like to some extent outside their favorite genre. Jebus, you said you disliked rap with a few exceptions, What are those exceptions for example?

Seems like I've been a ninja on multiple occasions tonight.

Midnight Moon - Water Strider

I like the guitars and percussion as the song gets going. The vocals too. Interesting guitars and keys around the middle. They come back in later. I like the contrast between the softer percussion parts and the brighter guitar/keys parts.

7/10

I'll take your advice and post something else. A classic folk song

I feel like I've heard that song on the radio a thousand times, but I never knew the title. :P
6.5/10, I think it's a pretty catchy song.

Ok, please don't immediately hate this because it's by Ariana Grande. Music isn't bad just because it's pop-

Just give it a shot. :P You don't have to like it, but just give it a shot, ok?
I really like the music video.

The highlight was her vocals as everything was sort of a backdrop to let her perform over some basic beats and melodies. I actually think she's one of my preferred pop stars, among the better half of them at least. Her vocal performance was nice and smooth for a while, and the ending was pretty good with her doing some trickier stuff. Overrall a nice, decent, simple pop song. 6/10

I really like the music video.
It's too bad that you feel like you have to give so much warning with your song choice, but I know what you mean. Are we that close minded here? There is nothing wrong with pop.
My favorite songs from Ariana are "Daydreamin" And "Honeymoon Avenue". Check them out.

Dream Sphere
Rainbowdragoneyes - Creatures ov Deception

Originality: 4\10
Variation: 4\10 Very simple dance beat for most of the song. The different segments of the song don't change up that much, but there is decent melodic variation within those segments.
Complexity: 5\10 The beat and vocal rhythms are very simple, but the 8 bit melody lines in the background being independent and weaving all over the place bumps up the complexity.
Catchiness: 8\10: Really catchy. This seems like the focus.
Mood\Emotion: 2.5\10 I don't think it was trying to craft a mood or emotion. Gives me some nostalgia though.
Lyrics\Meaning: 2.5\10: Nothing to write home about. Just there to carry melody. Maybe slightly subtracts
Highlight: I loved everything not strictly following the dance beat. The 8 bit background melody mostly.
Cultural bias score(Taste): 3\10 I typically gravitate towards songs with computer game sounds, but outside of a club, there are few musical elements more unappealing to me than the basic dance beat.

Autre Ne Veut - World War part2

The sounds at the start are weird and don't sound good to me. I think the song is otherwise pleasant but pretty boring. That wouldn't be a problem, but the weird sounds that reoccur throughout the song make it unpleasant as background or chill-out music. 3/10.

AWOLNATION - Kill Your Heroes

Strangely upbeat sounding for the song title. It makes more sense with the lyrics. Decent song, but not really my cup of tea. Pretty repetitive and not much of interest in what's being repeated.

5.5/10

Back to the metal from me, but this is fairly avant-garde.

Love those instrumentals, sadly it took a little long before it started to get a bit heavier.

This is probably my favourite song lol enjoy.
