Now we're talking, anthemic 70s cheese, Rick Davies really holds your attention and put a smile on my face, not like most modern bands parroting songs written for them: 8/10

It's not really the kind of music I like, but I could listen to the whole song.

Here is my song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC9h2bxaqns

Not into death metal, although this is pretty good. Instrumentals are solid, and lyrics, while hard to understand are pretty badass.

80's workout song, my ears are bleeding. Paul Stanley is cool though.
5-6 because I find it funny.

It's got something going, but I don't like the vocalist's style, plus the keyboard sounds bad to me. 4/10* // 50th percentile

I'd honestly want to share the whole album, (SUBJECTIVITY WARNING) but I'll just drop their best song instead:

The Beach Boys - God Only Knows

I wish there was a standard for the rating scores. It almost seems useless based on how variably people seem to rate things. This is basically the metric i'm using(my taste score). What are you using?
1 - "Terrible experience"
2 - "Seems bad"
3 - "Tolerable"
4 - "Didn't enjoy it, but I can imagine people liking it"
5 - "Indifferent"
6 - "Enjoyed it, but I probably wouldn't seek this out."
7 - "It was a solidly enjoyable song. I would like to listen to this at least a few times more"
8 - "This is now one of my go-to songs"
9 - "One of the best songs I've ever heard"
10 - "Perfect song" or "My new favorite song."

----------------------------

Lightningman_42's song choice:
Ruelle - Take It All

Originality: 6.3\10
Variation: 3\10 Repeats the same patterns, but add things on to create an effective build up.
Complexity: 2\10 Nothing to speak of.
Catchiness: 4\10
Mood\Emotion: 9\10 Clearly the point of the song, and does an excellent job at it. Very epic.
Lyrics\Meaning: 5.5\10 Really helps craft the mood.
Cultural bias score(My Taste): 8.4\10
4*/10 then, sorry to mark it so low according to Mr Purple's scoring, but this song in particular betrays the sickly sweet naivety of much of 70s pop music, I really do like Beach Boys and their melodies were obviously an innovation, but there are very few times I can imagine choosing to listen to them, like the beginning of a long holiday. This studio recording shows their true quality in less than total personality polished out finish - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVlSVkzbJDA

My favourite songs are a little obscure so will throw in a bunch from different genres you can chose which one you want to listen to/ review:
Blues - Fortunate Sons - Slave Train
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v68Z7C_JKx4
Folk-Punk - Inner terrestrials - Movin on
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp_vmgLQKXE
Hardcore Punk - Gallows- In the belly of a shark
https://youtu.be/Zmnxagdk9DU
Rock - Sevendust (Ft. Skin of Skunk Anansie) - Licking Cream
https://youtu.be/m9_o8dnZ_Qs
And 2 90s Alt Rock songs from Rick and Morty soundtracks I recently got into for good measure:
Mazzy Star - Fade into you - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uJ61jgFCMM
Elliot Smith - Between the bars - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4cJv6s_Yjw

This is the one I chose because the title intrigued me.

I could not make out most of the lyrics, but those that I did understand, I have no idea how they are relevant to being in the belly of a shark.

I do not listen to much heavy metal, so I don't know if this is common, but the man was screaming the lyrics instead of singing them. I am not sure whether I like this or not. On the one hand, I have some sort of admiration for this man doing this as I would not have the courage to scream like that as I would get a sore throat. On the other hand, when you scream the lyrics, it is considerably less pleasant than singing them, compare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfYnvDL0Qcw with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O2ZD6lTvMI. However, please note that these are NOT the songs I want to be reviewed.

Anyway, the music was very nice and pleasant to listen to. However, my only complaint is that it does not really reflect the atmosphere of being inside the belly of the shark. It would be more fitting if the song was about trying to escape a shark, however, I can understand why the song is not about that as shark attacks on humans are incredibly rare and it is more common for humans to attack sharks. Sharks have this undeserved reputation due to films like Jaws, etc.

So in conclusion, this song is a very nice song and I would recommend it.

Anyway, this is the song I would like to be reviewed:

Fortunate Sons - Slave Train

The vocalist is very talented and was interesting throughout the song. The backing instruments were all skillfully played and fitting, but the song writing was a bit too generic for me, but it was overrall above average still. The guitar solo and violin/fiddle solo were well crafted though. 7/10

Jizz Cake

This happens to be both the worst song I've ever heard and the worst comedy skit I've ever seen. 0/10

Z... could you please refrain from posting these novelty meme joke songs in this thread? If you want to have a thread for rating/reviewing them, then you're free to make your own thread specifically for that, but I no longer want these novelty songs in this thread, please.

Understood, although I think that this defeats the purpose of the thread which is meant to expose those rating the songs to the broad world of music, and occasionally take them outside of their comfort zone in the process. However, this is your thread, so you are the boss.

The song you posted has very pleasant music. The fast pace of it makes you feel a rush and somewhat giddy towards the end of it. When you immerse yourself in this music, it feels as if you are on a rollercoaster. I could understand the lyrics to an extent and from what I could hear, it goes very well with the song. The idea that this loudness is within the narrator's head, while the silence deafens him. It is clear that he has done wrong, and you are in his head, put in his place, alone with nothing but the silence in his own thoughts.
