Wow, that's a lot of ducks o.o
Here's a video of Madelyn Murray O'Hair speaking at a convention of American Atheists in 1972.

The carnist team was pretty bad. It's always useful to be on the team that has it right to present the stronger case. We have a topic on this debate here:miniboes wrote:Don't Eat Anything with a Face debate (with Neal Barnard)

This part of the debate was just ridiculous:

No problem. It's great that these debates are being done (especially at scales like these), so that the subject gets a bit more attention. Did you also watch the debate on TheVeganAtheist's YouTube-channel (link)? Ultimately we just need people to know about the issue and ethics behind our choices, so that it can get more mainstream.miniboes wrote:Oh, thanks for the link!
Yes, Dan pronounced that he would be less active for some time. Either that has to do with it, or he just forgot.miniboes wrote:Edit: We never got Dan's opinion!
I did, but I thought both sides were rather weak. The arguments from the carnivore side were ridiculous (they had like, a chef and a farmer?) but the veg*ns (they kept using the term vegetarian for some reason) barely punished them for it. The reason I loved the debate I posted is because the vegans a) had an actual health expert b) actually used the term vegan c) kicked ass.Volenta wrote:Did you also watch the debate on TheVeganAtheist's YouTube-channel (link)? It has been some time ago that I also watched this one. From what I remember Hitchens didn't do so well on average.miniboes wrote:Christopher Hitchens vs 4 Christians - Does God exist? (Including William Lane Craig)
And it was the most annoying one of them all.miniboes wrote:Edit: Correction, 5 christians. The moderator speaks more than the debaters.
I'm watching it for the first time, I think Hitch is quite strong.Volenta wrote:It has been some time ago that I also watched this one. From what I remember Hitchens didn't do so well on average.miniboes wrote:Christopher Hitchens vs 4 Christians - Does God exist? (Including William Lane Craig)
