Re: The Life of Peter the Parrot (Blue Amazon)

You went all of the way to Brazil to take the parrot home? Or were you closer to Brazil at the time? What happened with customs? It's usually not possible to transport exotic animals. How did you manage it? I'm sure you took a lot of pictures. Can you share some? Weren't you concerned about him bein...

Re: Ways to Make The Forum Better - Suggestions

Make some of us mods please. We have an "I love Bacon" spammer on the loose.

I'm sure that will happen from time to time.

I nominate Dan

Re: Not Vegan? why?

I'm an Omnivore... why? coz vegetables are healthy and bacon is delicious. Why limit yourself to one pallet? eat it all and be healthy. Why not eat everything, including aborted fetuses, the elderly, and criminals like jaywalkers? Since they're not serving society, and they can be cooked in a delic...

Re: science of animal smarts

I'll make a thread post here and you can read the story for yourself :) Awesome, thanks! :) I had a pig one time, and I turned it into bacon... sigh* I love that pig. I'm not sure if you thought that was funny, or you're trolling. If you're trying to be funny... you know we hear bacon jokes ten tim...

Re: Ways to Make The Forum Better - Suggestions

Agreed Thanks. On the member lists: Can you include a column on religion and diet? I'd like to be able to see who is who by just looking there. Also, default sorting: By highest posts I always look at that, to see who is active on a forum. The current default isn't very informative (join date- whic...

Re: Book recommendations

Great post. Very informed and very useful to read for everyone that's going vegan. I found plenty of articles that say you must take Omega 3 supplements as a vegan. So much bullshit. There is plenty of vegetables and seeds that cointain it, and algae are an excellent source for it too. Thanks! Yes....

Re: Book recommendations

Ah, flax seeds, yes. I'm thinking about making smoothies as breakfast with some flax seeds in them. Dr. Micheal Greger advises to use whole flax seeds in stead of flax seed oil though, because of the nutrition. But for the omega 3, oil is just fine. I love that guy! Flax is awesome: the trouble is ...

Re: Book recommendations

I use fish oil in as one of my supplements in the morning. I just use flaxseed oil. Its about the same price and offers the same benefits. Not exactly. Fish oil is terrible on a number of levels (from environmental destruction, to contamination and rancidity), but Flax oil based Omega 3 (which are ...

Re: Religious belief is inherently arrogant

I've had conversations with theist that tell me that I should keep my "devils work" to myself. It's funny how theist tell atheist to not spread the word then afterwards ask people to attend church service, the hypocrisy is off the roof with most of them. Their view is basically: "It's good to tell ...

Re: gods truth

In all honesty I wasn't aware of a "god" until the age of 5 when my grandmother explained to me that he was just there. I couldn't believe it for what it was though I just went on with it until I decided to speak out for myself. Totally, just saying that's what Christians think, so the argument pro...
