Re: Worst Teachers/Professors You've Had?

My point was that in the U.S. there are a lot of really smart people, such as professors and scientists, who are religious. I have not seen that phenomenon elsewhere. Well, it depends on the school and the subject. A lot of my professors are atheist, especially in the math and science departments. ...

Re: Worst Teachers/Professors You've Had?

Not a word about creationism outside of chapel. I was amazed how the professor spent the first minute of the class talking about the lord and then turned into a genius shortly after. In my country, the religious people are not the smartest ones. This is what's remarkable about the U.S. Well, not al...

Re: Worst Teachers/Professors You've Had?

I was lucky having excellent professors during university. It was not until my very last class in graduate school that I had a bad one. My professors always appreciated difficult questions and were honest if they did not know the answer. My finance teacher, however, got frustrated and angry when I ...

Re: Worst Teachers/Professors You've Had?

Interesting post, Red. It sucks you had to have a crappy teacher for the class, Earth Science is a very interesting field in science. I think you've said you want to study the sciences at University, right? There, you'll almost definitely have more qualified and useful teachers. :) Coming from Wyomi...

Re: Is the academy award committee unfair to black actors?

I don't really pay much attention to this stuff (mainly since I barely ever watch movies), and I've never watched any Academy Awards in my life. That being said, I remember hearing this one time about Jamie Foxx getting angry at Quentin Tarantino about using the term 'ghetto' in an acceptance speech...

Re: Forum Game: Rate the Wikipedia Article Above You

 One of the funniest pseudosciences I've heard of. It's hilarious and pathetic to see these nimrods attempt to reconcile obvious bullcrap. What these people don't understand is how science works; Aside from just failing to apply scientific methodology, they don't understand that these things ha...

Re: Greetings Fellow Philosophical Vegans!

Excellent intro post. After I finish University I'm going to dedicate more time to vegan activism. That's great. As you may be aware university students tend to be more open-minded than the general public and are therefore more open to the idea of veganism. Hence right now may be the best opportuni...

Re: Rate the Song Above You

Haha, keeping up with the Pulp Fiction spirits Red?
Great song, definitely badass, perfect for the movie. Great guitar riffs and other audio accomplishments. 9/10.

How about a classical piece?

Re: Nuclear Energy in 2019

Interesting post, Red. Although I know basically nothing about Nuclear Energy (Biology isn't exactly going to help build a reactor is it?), I still think it's vital to have Nuclear Energy as a result of climate change becoming an increasing problem. I don't like discussing politics too much, but thi...
