Re: Are we living in a simulation?

What is reminiscent? Can you give an example? You don't know for certain if God exists or not, so why not just believe? I would say refusing to engage in the discussion and instead leaning on the words of others is an example of theistic appeal to ignorance arguments. If I we were debating a scient...

Re: Are we living in a simulation?

Did you read the link I provided? I think the discussion would be easier if you summarized what you learned from this article relating specifically to what I wrote. So you didn't read it? Look, to be fair, I can't disprove what you said, but I (and other members) gave reasons why that doesn't matte...

Re: Are we living in a simulation?

I don't see how this is relevant. Me thinking it can be done in 1000 means nothing. It means a lot. If you think it can be done, why assume that it has never previously been done. And if it has previously been done, one can assume that there are already billions of simulations. So if there are a bi...

Re: Are we living in a simulation?

Do you think it is possible that in a 1000 years we could create simulations where the characters believe they are as real as we believe we are real. If your answer is yes, what makes you so sure that this has not already been done? I don't see how this is relevant. Me thinking it can be done in 10...

Re: Are we living in a simulation?

I think it's BS. Some homeboy named Stephen Wolfram wrote a book "A New Kind of Science" about how life may be a simulation and the reception was fairly negative. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_New_Kind_of_Science#Reception I'm not a scientist, but I don't see how there could be any evidence for th...

Indeed very selfish people. They think that putting a few dollars in the church collection every week excludes them as such.
I agree, that's also a problem. It's odd, when a large part of conservatism is Judeo-Christian values.

Re: New Forum Game - Story

"A! U! H! 2! O!" chanted members of The Order. "A! U! H! 2! O! A! U! H! 2! O! A! U! H! 2! O!" The chemist poured boiling water into a cauldron then mixed in bars of gold. The gold bars melted into the water, and created the ultimate concoction; Goldwater. They poured the concoction under a crucifix ...

Do Conservatives Care About Doing Any Good?

My VP Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and I tend to discuss our domestic program on occasion (and don't worry, I'm gonna add more to the story), and we believe that it is very reflective of progressive/liberal agendas. When I look at that idea, and see how nearly everything on the list is opposite to conservat...

Re: Am I Going Crazy?

Stray cats don't lead very good lives most of the time. Maybe you can contact a local TNR group, and they'd do it if you can catch her? I might be able to do that, but we'll see. I'm feeling much better about the accident. Still hurt, but coming to terms with it more. I'm going to try my hardest to...
