Re: Nuclear Energy in 2019

The number of people killed by Chernobyl is in the hundreds or thousands. It's difficult to get an exact number because it's difficult to know of the people that died from cancer which were Chernobyl caused and which got cancer for another reason. Are you referring to this? https://en.wikipedia.org...

Re: Forum Game: Break-a-Wish

I wish this forum thread was locked. Wish Granted! However, the locking of the thread comes with the stipulation that should you ever read the thread again, it will be unlocked forever. Ooops, did you just read it? I wish that this thread actually granted your wishes with no consequence. Granted, n...

Re: New Forum Game - Break a Curse

Here is your curse: You will never be able to listen to music you like, watch a film or tv show you like, or read a book you like EVER AGAIN. Since I am not able to enjoy any media I must create my own. In doing so I create some of the best in history, and I become very super famous with billions a...

Re: Nuclear Energy in 2019

Reasoning for my poll vote: I'm afraid, that in EU the nuclear energy is screwed. I thought Europe was more intelligent and scientifically illiterate. It seems they are just more left-leaning. :( At least France is good on Nuclear. Germany doesn't even buy electricity, which could come from nuclear...

Re: Showering

brimstoneSalad I think my showerhead is already low flow. I don't turn the water all the way on anymore, and I shampoo less (I use a showercap since it's a pain in the ass to dry my hair, and it's irritating to have it even slightly wet). Jamie in Chile Thanks for the advice, I'll take it into acco...

Do you ever feel that doing good is a waste of time?

Of course I don't think that it is, but I think for a lot of us, especially activists, there have been low moments where we just ask "What's the fucking point?" It's not just reading ignorant Youtube comments that makes everything feel insurmountable, but just people, often with good intentions, fea...

Re: Nuclear Energy in 2019

Unintentionally. It's complete garbage science. Thunderf00t did a video on it, though I have not watched yet I trust he knows his stuff here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsdLDFtbdrA Thunderf00t is great. His channel is the spiritual successor to Penn and Teller's Bullshit!. He works in a nuclea...

Given this explanation, do you find the statement in bold agreeable?
No.
Ah, I see how it is. Goodbye then.
Go learn the definitions first then come back. You're twisting the definition of consequentialist so as to make it fit with your nutty worldview.

You make me miss arguing with @teo123, he'll usually admit when he misspeaks or changes his mind.
That is saying something. I'm sure @MittensTheCat would disagree though.
