Re: Would you date a transgender?

I disagree with zzz. I think it's a good thread. I think issues like this are important, as are other issues like feminism and race equality. It's good to discuss these things. I have commented on the UK politics thread though! Jamie in Chile is correct. Issues such as this are very important, and ...

Re: I (Again) Don't Know What to Get For Christmas

I'm really not into much British history before WW2 so I wouldn't know. Sorry about that. Oh come on man, Charles I? Oliver Cromwell? Isambard Kingdom Brunell? Queen Elizabeth? I find them all interesting, but not enough to read an entire book about. Eh, maybe a Horrible Histories book. You're a ya...

Re: I (Again) Don't Know What to Get For Christmas

Most of its focus is on recent politics, but it goes into some detail on history, mostly on how it relates to Corbyn's rise (e.g. why Michael Foot, another Labour left-winger, did not achieve the same level of success due to the Falklands factor in the 1983 election). I'll probably add that to my l...

Re: I (Again) Don't Know What to Get For Christmas

I'd recommend The Candidate: Jeremy Corbyn's Improbable Path to Power by Alex Nunns. A very good introduction to the Corbyn movement in Britain and to British politics in general. Seems interesting. Does it cover more recent politics in Britain or does it also go into historical accounts? Most of i...

Re: I (Again) Don't Know What to Get For Christmas

Books are a good choice. The ones I'm getting are long, but seem to be interesting. My teacher said that if I read one of them, give him a test on it and he passes, he'll give me a 100 (I already have 100 in his class but it's for shits and giggles). Have you read them? Do you (or anyone else) have...

Re: How PragerU tries to appeal to liberals

The poison is of their own creation, you cannot defeat right-wing populism until you address why it exists in the first place. Over the last few decades liberal politicians have only pretended to be concerned for the average Joe, in reality their policies have destroyed communities throughout the A...

How PragerU tries to appeal to liberals

I'm sure most people here are familiar with the YouTube channel PragerU or "Prager University". For those of you who are not, PragerU is a channel that is headed by Dennis Prager, an American conservative. It is not an actual university, however, it presents itself as an alternative to American univ...

Looks like Jebus checked out. Too bad as this was one of the most interesting/entertaining threads I've followed in a long time. Intellectual humiliation at its very best.
@Jebus Goodbye Mr. Anderson.

Re: A guide to what is fake news and what is real news

Thus, I try to read both sides and weigh them against each other. To do this is very easy. Just listen to the big media outlets that have a monopoly on truth (e.g. BBC, Channel 4) which pretend to be impartial but secretly harbour a right-wing bias, and listen as well to the alternative media outle...

Re: A guide to what is fake news and what is real news

I'd forgotten I made this thread. I think I'd move Maoist Rebel News to the "Fake news" category now as Jason Unruhe is an idiot when it comes to pretty much everything other than the DPRK.
