Re: Interest in Cults

Couldn't any group of people sharing a particular belief be considered a "cult"?
Depending on their beliefs, they could be harmful to society, or they could be benign.
Interesting that cults are usually deemed to be cults by persons outside of them.

Re: Cat policy

Spay/ neuter your pets. I'm curious to know why it is right to spay and neuter, but wrong to take their milk, for instance. We either own them and may do as we please, or we do not and are obliged to leave them alone. Is this not so? Do the ends justify the means? I think you can own a dog, but cat...

To answer zzzzzzz (time restraints and lack of keyboard necessitate simplicity) Libertarian definition- individual rights outweigh the group. Socialist definition- the group's rights outweigh the right of the individual Would you consider libertarianism to be synonymous with individualism, and soci...

Re: Vs. Libertarian Socialist Rants thread

It really surprises me there aren't more Progressive Libertarians. I think a major problem with progressivism right now is intersectionality. Republicans also suffer a similar plague but I don't believe they use that name for it. Of course to the people who only follow Progressive pages, Libertarian...

Re: My Actual Libertarian Experience

Ideology isn't what I'd consider my political leanings: more of a semi strict adherence to individual liberty.

Re: Cat policy

Requiring cats to remain indoors is problematic, I regularly walked ours, but it seemed to make him redouble his efforts to escape and roam free.
Of course he is a true rescue (found in a parking lot at about 5 weeks old), so that may play into his proclivity for nature.
Spay and neuter seems best.
