Oyster/Mussel eating Vegan
Which I call 'The 95/5 Diet" since I eat them about once a week. Made a post about it in the thread on the issue before I saw the intro section, but anyways am happy to join a vegan community that is at least somewhat accepting of this. Really hoping the idea of eating oysters/mussels can become more mainstream.

Hi, and welcome! And you most certainly are welcome.
I added Ostrovegan for you in the diet field, if you want to select that (I can change it to Bivalvegan if you think that's better).

I'm not a huge fan of either of those terms tbh, don't think either exactly sell the idea, but thank you! Not sure I'd know how to change it anyway haha

Welcome to the forum!
Do we need an alternative term for vegans who eat bivalves? I think bivalves should just be considered vegan, and making a term specifically for vegans who eat bivalves almost seems to accidentally imply they aren't really vegan.
The same thing could be said about freeganism, really.
Though I might just be overthinking this.
Are you religious, 95/5?

I agree it should be considered vegan, but plenty of vegans take issue with it, so in order to not enrage them I try and call myself 95/5 to explain.
Not really religious, was raised Christian but don't believe there is an old bearded white guy in the sky, but am spiritual somewhat. Have a post ripping atheism on it's way though!

What do you mean by spiritual? Secular spirituality?
Thank you!Mr. 95/5 wrote:Some excellent signatures on this forum, yours included!

Spiritual in the sense that sometimes I pray, and while it might sound crazy, sometimes I talk to my late father in my mind.

How have you determined that you were talking to your father?Mr. 95/5 wrote:sometimes I talk to my late father in my mind.

Because I'm thinking of him as I do it? Not saying he actually hears what I'm thinking, but it is something I do (talk to him in my mind), and thus something that could be described as spiritual...

Would you mind elaborating on what these conversations are like? I have conversations with people in my head as well, but I don't think I'd classify as spiritual. What qualifies a spiritual experience?Mr. 95/5 wrote:Because I'm thinking of him as I do it?
