Hypocrisy of Britain First

Hello comrades.

Today, I wish to inform you of a British political party called Britain First. This is a right-wing anti-Islam anti-socialist and anti-communist political party in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland that split from the far-right BNP but now typically aligns themselves with UKIP, who led the political campaign for the UK's Brexit from the European Union.

Britain First holds a FaceBook page where they post memes criticizing multiculturalism, socialism, feminism and activism. There are many memes on this page of a questionable nature. They post memes that their supporters can share praising Britain and criticizing animal cruelty such as halal slaughter. Neither of these things by themselves are wrong, but oftentimes they contradict each other. One minute they post a meme saying "Don't you just love a traditional British full breakfast or roast dinner?" which includes items such as bacon, sausage, chicken, etc. All of these animals are put through tremendous pain in factory farms where they are tortured. Yet they believe this is moral, yet halal slaughter is immoral.

Now, I agree halal slaughter is immoral. However, it is no less immoral than what is praised by Britain First on a daily basis. This is because they don't care about the animals at all. They just want to spawn intolerance. In other words, animal cruelty is immoral and wrong, unless the person doing it isn't a Muslim, then it is fine.

This is quite frankly appalling. They are using their page to pull on the heartstrings of innocent vegans, vegetarians, pacifists and animal rightists, to entice them into their bigotry agenda. They couldn't give less of a damn about animal rights. I will bet all of my weed that if halal slaughter was a Christian tradition, they would have no problem with it. It is a disgrace

TL;DR: Halal slaughter is disgusting, but if you oppose it while supporting Haram slaughter and animal cruelty, you need to go to the mirror and take a good long hard look at yourself.

That's pretty ridiculous.

I suppose they could see halal slaughter as immoral because it's unnecessary, since it's done a little differently... it's possible that there's like a second more suffering. Although with some of the stunning used today (like CO2 stunning which is agonizing torture), I wouldn't bet Halal slaughter is worse.
The problem with that reasoning, if it is a second extra unnecessary suffering, is that so is meat in general unnecessary. An extra second is a drop in the bucket.

More likely they just see it as convenient rhetoric, as you said.
